The scientific and design department of the “Water for Life” project team was tasked with increasing the installation condensate output capacity.
A deep modernization of the installation was carried out. At the first stage, it is necessary to remove air bubbles that are released in the pump and negatively affect the cavitation process. To solve the problems that arose in both receivers, in the evaporation and condensate circuit, metal Pall rings were loaded. The use of Pall rings of increases the efficiency of deaeration processes in the receiver.
The second stage of the modernization of the installation consisted of reconfiguring the equipment and eliminating "extra" sections of the piping of the installation. The modernization allowed for a reduction in the overall hydraulic resistance of the installation and improved its compactness.
The third stage of the modernization of the installation was equipping the pump electric motors with frequency controllers. This modernization allows for a smooth start of the installation and facilitates better deaeration of the flow.
The final stage of the installation modernization was the installation of pipe inserts in the working areas. This process was described in the previous article of our news. This modernization will make it possible to increase the efficiency of the installation and reduce the overall cost of desalination. All work is aimed at using the most modern technologies, automating processes and using energy-efficient solutions. This will create a installation that meets the highest quality and reliability requirements.
